I’m a passionate systems engineer and engineering leader with a strong background in computer science. At LocalStack I work with an amazing team of people to re-shape cloud application development. I have fifteen years of professional experience in software and systems engineering, and hold a PhD in computer science from TU Wien. My research topic was edge computing with a focus on systems for AI and low-latency interactive distributed systems. The research spin-off CognitiveXR sits at the intersection of these domains, and is my most cherished side project. Before that, I worked as a freelance web developer, and later as a software engineer at an industry-oriented research facility developing a data integration platform for systems engineering data. I have been a visiting researcher at Carnegie Mellon University working on Edge Computing Systems, and at IBM Watson Research in New York, working on systems to operationalize AI.
